Introduction: Are you in the market for a reliable and affordable used car in Susanville, CA? Look no further than Craigslist, the ultimate online marketplace where you can find a plethora of hidden automotive gems. With its vast selection of vehicles and user-friendly interface, Craigslist makes it easy to find the perfect car that meets your needs and budget. In this comprehensive guide, we will delve into the world of Craigslist Cars in Susanville, CA, providing you with invaluable tips, tricks, and insights to help you navigate the platform and uncover the best deals.

  1. Research and Preparation: Before embarking on your Craigslist car-hunting journey, it’s essential to do your research and come prepared. Start by defining your budget, vehicle type, and desired features. Familiarize yourself with the different car makes, models, and their average prices in Susanville. Create a list of must-have and nice-to-have features to narrow down your search and make the decision-making process smoother.

  2. Utilize Search Filters: Craigslist offers a robust search filter system that allows you to refine your search results and quickly find the most relevant vehicles. Utilize filters such as price range, make, model, year, mileage, and location to narrow down your options. Additionally, use keywords related to your desired features, such as “leather seats,” “sunroof,” or “four-wheel drive,” to further refine your search.

  3. Explore the “For Sale by Owner” Section: Craigslist’s “For Sale by Owner” section is a treasure trove of vehicles sold directly by individuals. These listings often present excellent opportunities to find well-maintained cars at competitive prices. Be sure to read the descriptions carefully and contact the sellers to gather more information and schedule a test drive.

  4. Be Wary of Scams: While Craigslist is generally a safe platform, it’s crucial to remain vigilant against potential scams. Be wary of listings that seem too good to be true or ask for upfront payments without allowing you to see the vehicle in person. Always meet sellers in a public place and inspect the car thoroughly before committing to a purchase.

  5. Inspect the Vehicle Thoroughly: When you find a potential car that interests you, schedule a test drive and inspect it meticulously. Look for signs of wear and tear, rust, leaks, or any other issues. Pay attention to the vehicle’s overall condition, including the interior, exterior, and engine. If you’re unsure about anything, consider bringing a mechanic with you for a professional assessment.

  6. Negotiate the Price: Don’t be afraid to negotiate the price with sellers, especially if you find a car listed at a slightly higher price. Be polite and respectful but firm in your negotiations. Research similar vehicles in the area to determine a fair market value and use that as a starting point for your negotiations.

  7. Complete the Sale Safely: Once you’ve agreed on a price and are satisfied with the vehicle’s condition, it’s time to complete the sale. Ensure you have all the necessary paperwork, including the title, registration, and bill of sale. Make sure the seller signs the title over to you and that you receive a copy for your records.

Conclusion: Craigslist Cars in Susanville, CA, offer a wealth of opportunities for car buyers seeking reliable and affordable vehicles. By following the tips and insights provided in this guide, you can navigate the platform effectively, find the best deals, and uncover hidden automotive gems. Remember to do your research, utilize search filters, explore the “For Sale by Owner” section, be vigilant against scams, inspect the vehicle thoroughly, negotiate the price, and complete the sale safely. With patience, perseverance, and a keen eye for detail, you’re sure to find the perfect car that meets your needs and budget in Susanville, CA.

The ladies at the desk were amazing. They took such good care of me! The technician was awesome, too. I thought I needed a lot of work on my car, but once he checked it out thoroughly, he only found ONE thing that needed fixing. Honesty is very hard to find in the auto care business, and I was beyond pleased with this business in that regard. I went in expecting to pay an arm and a leg but ended up only paying a wrist’s worth! ? I feel good knowing my car is safe for my daughter to drive and my grandkids to ride in. Especially with winter on its way, which is treacherous here! Thanks, Les Schwab staff! I’ll be back!

RV friendly !!! We had a mishap with chains on our tires and were in serious need of new tires. We made the call when we were about an hour away and they held a set for us. We rolled in and sat in the lobby with our two dogs while Betty got some new shoes. While we were waiting an employee took the time to find us the best and safest way to our destination. She checked out road closures and which way would require chains. Customer service was excellent

Unfortunately I have a not so good review I paid to have an alignment done on my pickup and they performed an alignment on it and almost had it dead on the first time but it had a small pull to the left while backing up and was just a little off so the young gal told me if I had any issues just to let them know (she was super sweet and kind) so I did just needed a little something done so it would back up properly. So I made an appointment again brought it back in to be fixed and rt away a young gentleman started jacking it up while I was talking to another employee then I watched the jack slip out from under it and said woah now then the guy I was talking to went to assist with the jack. Mentioned to them I would be back to pick it up when it was done and shrugged off the jack thing but upon arrival I went to get into my truck to find that somehow ignition was still on and key was inside also my passenger window was down and battery was completely dead truck unlocked so anyone could have entered my vehicle. Had to get them to give me a jump so I could leave and as I left I couldn’t turn my truck to the left all the way forward or in reverse pulled over in the parking lot by dollar tree and shined a flashlight onto the upper control arm adjustment brackets to find that it had been pryde on hard enough that one of the camber pins were ripped out! Since it was late couldnt take it back to see if they could do anything so called them and explained what was going on so again I brought it back but this time when I returned to try the third time I didn’t feel comfortable dealing with them being that this was literally the fifth time the two first attempts i was told I needed parts and they quoted me approx 1200$ but me being a mechanic i just replaced everything myself for 120$. But wow today I spoke with a guy named Mitch and I couldn’t get even a word out I was wrong he was right and he’s been doing this for years and all the alignment pins are in place and my truck can’t be aligned properly because it has a small lift and that the pin being pulled out wasn’t their problem. But for one I always see how much adjustments are moved after every alignment because I mark them before they get touched so that if I need I can reverse what an alignment tech has done if it’s off. Also if you can’t align my vehicle why can’t I get a simple refund without being talked down to? He also told me les Schwab won’t do business with me anymore if he refunds me? I did nothing wrong by not feeling comfortable with the work being performed after finding damage and driving home with a dangerous vehicle what’s crazy is the first time they had it almost spot on then now it’s undrivable I will have to just put my adjustments back to were I had them before I took it to them then do my own alignment so sad they couldn’t make it right by just being kind! Everyone else at the branch was kind but Mitch I want you to know that I was just a paying customer that needed my truck simply aligned but after the adjustment pins get broke then you can’t properly align a vehicle and that was my concern! Mitch even when I asked you to be kind to me buddy you continued to over talk me and tell me I was wrong and show just how rude a young manager can be! All the other young techs in this branch are working hard and respectful as well as the ladies inside at the counter you guys all are doing great! But all it takes is one person in charge to turn customers away and ruin a business atmosphere! Upon further inspection I found that they also pryde on my inner tierod that just installed two weeks ago and ripped the boot covering the knuckle! Who the heck prys on steering components such as an inner tierod to get an alignment done holy smokes how unprofessional!

Customer service is still alive in this day in time. I just want to say thank you very much to the manager. I didn’t catch his name, but he is running that business right.

    Thanks again.

We had a nail in our tire. We pulled in and were next in line. Fixed the tire in about half an hour and we were back on the road. And it was FREE because we were there before 3pm. Highly recommend fast and friendly

  1. Susanville Ford has literally the best service department of any dealership I have EVER been to!

On a road trip to an off-road rally I had my radiator blow while driving through Susanville! Not only was Jerrika and her service department exceptional (tech Josh coming in for diagnostics on his day off etc) but working as fast as they could to get me back on the road and allowing us to make it to the start line of the rally and compete for 10 days off-road without any issues! This would not have been possible with the service team at Susanville Ford!

Just recently, my husband randomly was driving the same route I had taken and was concerned about a possible issue with the truck he was driving! Jerrika once again came to our rescue and was able to diagnosis that there was nothing to worry about and he was on his way! So amazing!!! Thank you Susanville Ford for being outstanding!

  2. The best service team I’ve ever come across in the West. Customer Service Manager Jerrika kept me informed, answered all my questions and did it all with a smile! I was traveling through when my truck had issues. They got me back on the road and my truck runs better than it ever has!

  3. Susanville Ford treated us nicely. Just traveling in the area and they were glad to service our unit. Everyone seemed to do a good job and care about the customers. Really nice red charger on the lot too!!

  4. These guys are amazing! The service department saved us from disaster and got our fire truck back on the road. They were kind enough to squeeze us in when they didn’t have to. I’m forever grateful for their kindness and understanding for our situation. Thank you so very much!!!

  5. Susanville Ford was the best experience I’ve ever had with a dealership. My Ram Promaster van had both engine light and ETS lights blaring up a steep pass, but after hopping on the phone with the dealership they were able to see me the very same day despite it being close to end of day (I live and work out of my van). Jerrika Gonzalez was especially helpful in the office, and the work was prompt in the shop. They discovered that a different dealership had done their job incorrectly several weeks prior and damaged a part that was causing the lights. Jerrika got on the phone with them and stayed on the line until she could find the parts manager and ensure that they pay for the new repair. I had to stay in town for the next week waiting for a part and Jerrika made sure that I was able to stay in the lot across the street, which she didn’t have to do. Everyone was prompt, kind, and professional, and any news on diagnosis and repair were reported to me right away. I’m so glad that if my van had to fall apart on me, it fell apart only 15 minutes from Susanville Ford!
