Going in the prices are non negotiable no matter what and all the prices are displayed and the lowest they can go. The sales associates I worked with were so nice and knowledgeable through the whole process and made it fast and easy to understand. After looking at many of the vehicles, I can say that it will be highly unlikely that I ever purchase I car from here. 4 months agoOutstanding experience! I hate doing the whole “car buying” thing — from looking and test-driving to haggling, and waiting for the mysterious wizard behind the curtain to accept my offer. Although I have been in the automotive industry since 2003, specifically F&I, I’d much prefer to get a root canal any day over buying a car.Diego, at the Carmax in Greenville, was efficient, attentive, and professional. He listened carefully to my needs and respected the fact that I came in ready to sign and get out ASAP.
From start to finish it was just under 2 hours! I used the Express service to complete everything. From financing to scheduling the pick up of my new (used) SUV! The night before I was able to look at over 400 vehicles, compare them, and then come to a final decision.
I would highly recommend CarMax over any other dealership experience out there today.
a month agoI deeply regret choosing CarMax to purchase a vehicle. A week after purchasing a 2022 Hyundai the car broke down. Bad fuel injector. That was 2 months ago and ever since then, EVERY step I have taken through the process of returning the vehicle has required me calling multiple times, eventually giving up and going into the store, and then having to come in again because something wasn’t done right or I was never updated on the status. CarMax has contacted me ZERO times in this process.And still, to this day, I show a car loan on my USAA account that I had to MAKE A PAYMENT ON so it wouldn’t show as late for a vehicle I no longer own.
The best part is that I was literally told by a (nameless) employee of CarMax that I should return the car because “CarMax knowingly buys bad cars hoping it’ll last past the 30 day return policy”.
I’ve known people that have had luck with CarMax, but I will never be using them again and I make sure everyone I know knows they shouldn’t either.

I have nothing bad to say about Matt still he was great and helpful, however as they claim to inspect the vehicle prior to leaving to ensure it’s “safe” in less than 350 miles the vehicle i purchased needs all new brake pads and rotors, how can you miss that in an inspection is beyond me. Be wary of their inspections.
I want to give a shout out to Salesman Matt!!! So professional and was detailed on what was happening and what I needed to do!! I went in loosing faith due to a rough experience with a car lot before I went to Byrider and he made me have confidence I was going to be ok and would be driving a vehicle and it happened!! I am Blesses and Thankful for his time. He also came in next morning on his day off to finish the sale. Appreciated that!!! After awful experience after awful experience, I came to JD Byrider, and met Matt, and not only was I spoken to with an incredibly refreshing amount of clarity, honesty, and transparency, he worked with my budget, and my timeframe. The entire process was easy, and he brought laughter and positivity to what is normally a dreadful process.
