Urging Peace: Brian Eno Pleads for Palestinian Support, Israeli Ceasefire

Brian Eno, a renowned celebrity, has joined Drake, Jennifer Lopez, America Ferrera, and several other famous artists in signing an open letter urging President Joe Biden and Congress to push for a ceasefire in the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine.

The open letter, titled The Artists4Ceasefire, calls on President Joe Biden and Congress to work towards a ceasefire in the deadly conflict between Israel and Hamas. This letter was sent to Biden and Congress in a bid to persuade the U.S. government to convince both parties to de-escalate the hostilities in the region after weeks of fighting.

“We come together as artists and advocates, but most importantly as human beings witnessing the devastating loss of lives and unfolding horrors in Israel and Palestine,” reads the letter. The inclusion of Brian Eno in signing the Artists4Ceasefire letter demonstrates his concern for the Palestinians and indirectly appeals to Israel to halt the continuous attacks on Gaza that have claimed the lives of thousands of women, children, and elderly individuals.

In addition to the devastating statistics of destruction provided by the government media office in Gaza, it is worth mentioning that 26 out of 33 hospitals in Gaza are currently non-functional, 278,000 homes have been destroyed, and 311 schools have been severely damaged. These numbers paint a grim picture of the current state of affairs in Gaza. However, amidst the ongoing violence, there has been support for a ceasefire in Gaza, notably from musician Brian Eno, demonstrating his sympathy for the Palestinians who are enduring continuous aerial and ground attacks by Israel in Gaza, Palestine.
