The open letter, known as The Artists4Ceasefire, calls on President Joe Biden and Congress to work towards a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. The Artists4Ceasefire open letter was sent to Biden and Congress in an attempt to get the U.S. government to persuade both parties to agree to de-escalate hostilities in the region after weeks of fighting.

In her message included in the open letter, Melanie Martinez stated, “I’m calling to urge you to stand on the side of humanity and call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the safe return of all hostages, and the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to the civilians in Gaza.”
