Aminatou Sow Urges Palestinian Support, Calls for Israeli Ceasefire

Aminatou Sow, a renowned celebrity, has joined forces with Adam Lambert, Dua Lipa, Gigi Hadid, and several other top artists to sign an open letter urging President Joe Biden and Congress to push for a ceasefire in the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine.

The open letter, called Artists4Ceasefire, demands that President Joe Biden and Congress advocate for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas. The Artists4Ceasefire letter has been sent to Biden and Congress in an attempt to persuade the U.S. government to encourage both parties to de-escalate hostilities in the region after weeks of intense fighting.

Aminatou Sow conveyed the following message in the open letter: “Children and families in Gaza have practically run out of food, water, electricity, medicine, and safe access to hospitals, following days of air strikes and cuts to all supply routes. Gaza’s sole power plant has run out of fuel, resulting in the shutdown of electricity, water, and wastewater treatment facilities. Most residents can no longer obtain drinking water or household water through pipelines. The humanitarian situation has reached deadly lows, and yet further attacks are being reported. As the President of the United States, we kindly request that you and the U.S. Congress call for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel before another life is lost.”

Aminatou Sow’s involvement in signing the Artists4Ceasefire letter demonstrates her concern for the Palestinians and indirectly appeals to Israel to cease its relentless attacks on Gaza, which have claimed the lives of thousands of women, children, and elderly individuals.
